The odd couple – Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton and Thomas “Cee-Lo” Callaway?
Danger Mouse is a producer better known for his remix of The Beatles “The White Album” and Jay-Z’s “The Black Album” to create The Grey Album in 2004.
Cee-Lo is a rapper and singer that was once apart of the group, “The Goodie Mob”.
So what can be so odd about these two? According to the group’s official Web site, GnarlsBarkley.com, the duo will release “The Odd Couple” their follow up to their debut album, St. Elsewhere (which is a very good album, might I add). The first single off the album “Run” has already been leaked to the internet.
Danger Mouse told MTV, “We’re going to do it at our pace…If we love what’s coming out, then we’ll do another record; if we don’t love it the way we loved St. Elsewhere, well, then we won’t do it.”

I must admit, the St. Elswhere album took a loooooooooooooooooooong time to grow on me, but I definitely love thier collaboration of style. When you let your inhibitions go and think outside of the box, that’s when you begin to see music in an array of colours rather than in one shade. Gnarls Barkley along with other such eclectic artista have help me see music in such a way…..I anticipate the sophmore album in deed.

Exactly! They are definitely NOT in any sort of creativity trap. I admired St. Elsewhere! A lot of times you have to appreciate another, knowing that you CANNOT. An artist couldn’t even have uttered, “I was just thinking that”. More appropriately would have been, “I wish I could have been apart of that”. I know that was my feeling. The same could be said for “The Love Below” (Andre 3000) or “Voodoo” (D’angelo). I’m more of a fan of Ceeloo’s vocals! He has that old country southern church voice! Don’t need no vocal training! Danger Mouse is really in a league of his own. He doesn’t party; you won’t see him at any video shoots or anything. He lives for music. And when you block yourself from everything else that’s going on, or that doesn’t even matter in life- you’ll be surprised at what grows from a clear mind. They have a message in every song that I’ve heard, and you can see the pictures that they paint with words. I promise not to download this 1!
