19-year-old COLBY O’DONIS is set to take the music world by storm. Singer, songwriter, producer, and all-around entertainer, COLBY’s first single “What You Got” (w/Akon) features Pop, R&B, and Latin flavors. The single is already generating anticipation for COLBY’s debut album to be released on Akon’s KonLive label.

Brothers R. City bring their “Caribbean spiced Hip-Hop” to their mixtape “The Black Beatles”. Hailing from the Caribbean, this dynamic duo got their big break after moving to Atlanta. They have a unique sound where their “islander accents become one with rap.” Their debut album “Wake the Neighbors” is due later this year. MMIM is looking forward to see what this group will bring to the hip hop table.

Colby O’Donis has to grow on to me but I don’t think I’m feeling him like that…yet. Ya’ll know how it is, you really don’t feel a song, then about a week or two later you can’t get it out of your head.
As for R.City, I like the Secret song. That’s real hot! Not really feeling the flashing lights song too much and it could be because I have heard too many artists (Teedra Moses, Colin Munroe, R.City) put their own spin to that song so its not longer original to me.

I love the lyrics and the message in Colby’s joint. He has some skills on the strings. I hope Akon will at least let him do his own thing on some of the tracks. He’ll have the whole Konvict Army on the album, and won’t let slim really sell his skills.
I HATE MIXTAPES! The kind that require already used production! How could you really judge new talent over a song that was already a hit?
