JHud premiered her new video last night on BET. This is from her debut album to be released this September. The single is called “Spotlight”.

This is a new track from (what is left of Floetry) Marsha Ambrosius. No word has been released if this track is off a solo project, but this song has been released on her My Space page. The track is titled, “Co-Star”.

And to my surprise, I discovered today that Marsha released a mixtape last year titled “Neo-Soul is Dead”. One of the tracks from the mixtape is below. It’s titled “Ya Don’t Know”

Brandy, who recently signed with Epic Records, is gearing up to release her 5th studio album this year. The album will include appearances from Kat DeLuna, Jennifer Lopez, and Sean Kingston.

Producers and songwriters that were also involved on the project include, Rodney Jerkins, The Neptunes, Kerry “Krucial” Brothers, Rockwilder, Tim & Bob, and executive producer Bryan Michael Cox. With this many “super” producers and songwriters, her album is sure to be a hit.

Brandy’s last album, Afrodisiac was released in 2004 and was highly successful. Brandy has been off the scene for a while now doing other projects and endorsements; can’t wait to hear what this album will bring.

No word yet on the official first single, but here is one of tracks off the album. It’s titled “Feel So Good.”

Common’s new album Invincible Summer, was initially scheduled to be released this summer, to go along with the title. But it seems like it won’t be making the mid-July release date. Now the album is scheduled to be released on September 23, but with albums being pushed back so often, who knows what may change.

Common spoke to That’s Hip Hop and he had this to say about his unreleased project. “You can expect some fresh music that you’ve never heard from Common before…definitely a new sound. The inspiration came from me being out at them clubs. I said I want people to feel my music in that way… Not only do they know Common as this conscious artist who brings thoughtful lyrics, but we can dance to some of his music, too, and just smile and let go of our problems.”

Okay Common, we are eager to hear this new sound but don’t keep us waiting too long. I wonder if the album will still be titled Invincible Summer since it’s being released in the fall…

For those of you who missed Jill Scott when she came to your city (shame on you) and even if you did get a chance to see her live in concert – you will have the opportunity to see it again on June 29th at 10 pm (eastern time). TV One will air The Real Thing Tour which was taped in Philly in its entirety.

Jill will perform hits like Hate on Me, Golden and Long Walk. Don’t forget to tune in!

 A little while back, MMIM did a feature on artists that we would like to see make a come back. Well part of our requests have been answered with R&B singer D’Angelo.  D’Angelo has not released an album since 2000, where his song “Untitled: How Does it Feel” had all of the fellows hating and all of the ladies loving him when he released that video.  And of course we cannot forget his remake of “Cruisin” and his ode to “Brown Sugar” from his first studio album.

According to Billboard.com, J Records purchased D’Angelo’s contract from Virgin Records in 2005 and he is currently working on his third studio album that will feature colloborations from Raphael Saadiq and John Mayer. He is slated to release a single later on this year and we looking forward to it! 

Terrence Howard has always been involved in music – on and off the screen and on September 2, Terrence Howard – Me and the Band of Kings will be released. The album will be a mix of pop, rock and jazz and Terrence wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on the album.
