MMIM: Can you tell our readers who Cayan is?
Cayan: Cayan is the young, versatile up-and-comer from an area where they’d rather see you not. Cayan is the uprising against the norm, one song at a time.
MMIM: What would you say inspires your music?
Cayan: I was raised on a lot of Motown and soul music, so I draw some inspiration from those otlets. I am inspired by everyday life..I don’t rap about anything unfamiliar to me, this is the life myself and EF go through.
MMIM: Who are your musical influences?
Cayan: Definitely people like Eminem, Jay-Z, Babyface, Blue Magic, Musiq Soulchild, and Kanye.
MMIM: What are your currently working on and we can expect to see your first project released?
Cayan: I’ve been working relentlessly on new music. I already have projects out, District of Caylumbia I & II, and I’m working on my next solo effort, entitled ‘Protege’, which is my mindset right now. Me and EF have a lot of music to release as well, starting with “We Major”.
MMIM: Describe your experience working with an independent music group.
Cayan: It’s definitely a good experience, we’re both trying to attain that level of success, so we can build off of one another, being that they handle more than just the music side.
