Its always great to hear new music from D’Angelo but this is a very different sound for D’Angelo. Not saying that it is a bad thing, I love how he stepped outside his box. Although, he does sound a little like Bilal on this track. Check out the Mark Ronson collabo below and let us know what you think. The song is titled, “Glass Mountain Trust”.
I have a feeling Nicki Minaj’s debut album is going to be a dissapointment. She is great as a feature on another artist’s song. Her last two features, Trey Songz “Bottoms Up” and Kanye West “Monster”, Nicki brought her “A-Game”. This song below…two words…NO GOOD. This is a leak from her upcoming album, “Pink Friday”. Check it out and let us know what you think.
Check out the first official video for Gone Already from Faith Evan’s upcoming album Something About Faith, which is slated to be released on October 5th.
Yesterday we posted Kid Cudi’s Complex Magazine cover for the October/November issue, but on the flip side of that same issue you will find Nicki Minaj. She appears to be a lot more tame within this issue. Also check out the behind the scenes video from her shoot below.
Kid Cudi graces the cover of the lastest Complex Magazine where he discusses how he does not like being compared to other rappers, what you can expect to hear on his upcoming album, and his past issues with drugs.
Cudi on why he stated in “Mojo So Dope,” that he “live through words, not metaphors:
I didn’t want anybody to take it the wrong way, because it wasn’t a dis.But most of the rappers that everyone loves are rappers that use metaphors. That’s not my style of rap. I like to rhyme in a more poetic way. Sometimes you don’t have to use these…witty ways of trying. It just sounds like somebody is overselling shit.
This past weekend D.C. was filled with events including the annual Kevin Durant & Wale Celebrity Birthday Weekend. However, before the parties kicked off Wale and Roscoe Dash went to visit D.C Charter school Mary McLeod Bethune Day Academy, and gave the students a pleasant surprise with a half-day visit where they spoke to classes, hosted a pep rally, took photos and signed autographs. Check out some of the photos below of their visit.

Seems like a lot of artists are going the pop route these days. Not to sure if Rihanna’s latest single Who’s That Chick will appear on her upcoming album, but this is defitnetly a fun and colorful video.
Dope new video for Kelly Rowland’s second single, Rose Colored Glasses. I am loving the direction she is taking for this new album and wish her much success.
Trey Songz recently came by 106th and Park and provided the guests with a mini concert. Check out the footage below where he performs Can’t Be Friends amongst a few other songs.
Check out the video for one of my favorite songs from YahZarah’s latest album The Ballad of Purple Saint James. Cry Over You is the second single from her album and the video was directed by Matt Koza. All of you DMV folks will enjoy the U street sightings.
Kanye West will appear within the October issue of XXL Magazine, which hits newstands on September 28th. XXL has reported that Mr.West even took on the role of Creative Director for his 40-page section spread within the magazine and he touches on his relationship with the public after the MTV incident and grinding on his new album.
Lil’ Wayne shows that he is not a human being in his new video. This is the visual for the title track from his upcoming album, “I Am Not a Human Being.” Check it out and let us know what you think.
As you all know, Jay-z is currently on the road with Eminem doing a few shows in each other’s hometown. On Tuesday, while at Yankee Stadium Hov brought out a few of his friends for the audience. Check the videos below of Drake and Nicki Minaj performing together and MJB. Enjoy!
