Last night, the 2011 Grammy nominations were announced. I’m glad to see some of my favorite artists like Janelle Monae, Bilal and Raheem DeVaughn receive recognition for their work put out this year.

Despite suffering album leaks Kanye West and Nicki Minaj did significant numbers for the release of their albums. According to Hits Daily Double Kanye landed in the number one spot selling 518,775 and Nicki was right behind him with 371,049. They both beat some heavy names including Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Susan Boyle.
Jay-Z’s first book, Decoded has been highly successful since its release even gaining a spot on the New York Times Bestseller list. The book is currently holding down the #3 spot, right behind former President George Bush memoir, Decision POints and and Laura Hillenbrand’s Unbroken.
Congrats to Hov as this is a major accomplishment even Oprah included it in her “favorite things” episode.
Check out this video of Janet Jackson announcing her World Tour. Janet explains that “this tour will be different from the ones in the past.” How different you ask? Well Janet is allowing the fans to decide which city she should perform in. Beginning November 19, fans will be able to submit their recommendation for their hometown to Janet. Nicki Minaj is next to get her own documentary on MTV. “My Time Now” will be similair to the documentary that MTV put together on Drake. The cameras will be with Nicki as she records her debut album and while she is on the road. November 28 at 10pm, make sure you are near a TV to catch it. Check out the trailer below.
Beyonce is doing it again – this thanksgiving, you can find her on ABC with her holiday special, Beyonce I Am…World Tour: Thanksgiving Night Special. It airs 9:30 eastern and not only will we see her perform her hits but it will also include behind the scenes footage and private moments of her last world tour.
Drake is on the cover of the current issue of GQ magazine as “Man of the Year.” In this issue Drake talks about his success and details about his next album, already titled, “Take Care.”

If you haven’t heard the news, over the weekend, Jay Electronica signed with Jay-z’s Roc Nation. Hov announced on Friday night at The Box in NYC that Jay Electronica is one of the newest members of Roc Nation. After the announcement, he performed some of hits including, “Exhibit A”, “Exhibit C” and “Dear Moleskine.”
Kanye stopped by the “TODAY” show this morning for an interview to promote his album but according to his tweets, it wasn’t so pleasant. He went to Twitter to vent his frustrations…

Even though the King of Pop is not with us anymore, his music is still alive. On December 14th, the estate of Michael Jackson and Epic Records will release a new album titled, “Michael.”
The album will have all new material, never been released by Michael. Above is the artwork for the album cover.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from one of our faves, Anthony David. After he deleted his Twitter account, it seems like we had lost our only way to keep up with his happs. Well, all of that has changed…we just received some GREAT news!
On November 23rd, Anthony David will release a live didgital EP that will include 7 brand new tracks. The EP is available now as a pre-order. To order now, visit iTunes. The EP was recently recorded live in Atlanta.
And if that news was enough, Anthony is working on his fourth studio album will be released February 2011. “As Above, So Below” is the follow-up to Acey Duecy which was released in the summer of 2008.
