I remember this record dominating the radio stations when I first relocated up here from NC. I’ve always enjoyed their creative tracks and look forward to hearing their upcoming project “Laws of Power”. It was scheduled to be released tomorrow, but has been pushed back to March. Any memories surrounding this song?

Even though the track was originally written for TLC, it was turned down by the group and recorded by MJB and I feel it was a good hence the peak this song made on the Billboard. I definitely remember this song and loved the video, let MMIM know of any memories that may surround this song.

This week’s throwback is brought to you by Ms. Robin Fenty, better known as Rihanna with her hit pop-reggae single “If It’s Lovin’ That You Want” from her debut album “Music of the Sun” released in 2005. I may be late, but I feel it’s great to learn that KRS-One helped to write this song as it also includes a sample “The Bridge is Over” by Boogie Down Productions. This song always use to put me in a good mood as it gives off that great Caribbean vibe. Make sure to pick up Rihanna’s upcoming album entitled “Rated R” set to be released November 23, 2009.

I remember when I first saw this video, it capitvated me from beginning to end. Wu-Tang brought all of the members together (minus one) for “Triumph.” On a song that didn’t have a chorus and was 6 minutes long, many did not see its success. The video cost 1 million dollars to make, back then that was a lot for a rap music video. Today in my book, its still considered a CLASSIC (song and video). Enjoy!
