We created this site to provide an open forum for music lovers to discuss various perspectives on songs and lyrics. We also wanted to create a one-stop-shop giving users access to information on upcoming concerts, shows, and other events. With that being said…let’s set the mood…

The Mood

Music is priceless. It motivates, cultivates, and inspires. Music engages and it enlightens. It gets you through the day and in times, during the night. Music makes you relive, revive, relate, reminisce, and sometimes retaliate. Music is life. Music is soul, music is uplifting, music is your friend…music is my mood.

Why My Mood is Music: My mood is music because music has a way of taking you to another place.  It’s like your friend that understands exactly how you feel whether you are in love, experiencing relationship drama, living your life like its golden, or if you simply need a blessing from a higher power.  Music is universal and its unbiased.

When I am Not Listening to Music: I am working in media planning, mentoring youth,  and planning events.

Best Concert Experience Ever: Most recently would have to be the Kanye ”Glow in the Dark” tour . This man is so passionate about his craft and he can put on a great performance!  The visual production of the show was also pretty intense.

Favorite Artists: Andre 3000, Gnarls Barkley, Teedra Moses, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Janelle Monae, Weezy, Talib Kweli, Yolanda Adams, John Legend and Jill Scott..too many to type

Why My Mood is Music: Music is one of my favorite arts. Music brings me so much emotion and feeling. It can make me smile, make me cry, or make me reminisce on the past. Sometimes, it gives me indescribable feelings. It’s my one thing that I cannot go without daily. Music can get me through any negative or positive situation. Music is my healing…I just love music!

When I am not listening to Music: Spending time with my daughter and pursing my other passion, photography. But on the other hand, I am ALWAYS listening to music.

Best Concert Experience Ever: To date, I would have to say that Anthony Hamilton has put on the best show by any artist that I have seen. He has so much energy and his voice sounds amazing live.

Favorite Artists: Teedra Moses, Erykah Badu, Jay-Z, Amy Winehouse, Leela James, Lupe Fiasco, Gnarls Barkley, Avril Lavinge, Emily King, Common, Kindred the Family Soul, Anthony David, Raphael Saadiq, Ashlee Simpson…I can go on and on but these are my top fave.

Why My Mood is Music: Music is an art of individualized expression and I always respect it as such.  Music has the power to bring me to a smile, move me to tears, spark a memory that only I can relate to and leave me in the state of a daydreamer…Music has always been a good remedy for me in terms of healing a broken heart or an empty soul.  Music is not only my passion, or my confidant, but my best friend that always seems to have the answers when I need to say something or how to say it, so for that, music will forever be my mood.

When I am not listening to Music: There is hardly a time where I am left without music, but when I am, I enjoy singing, writing, reading, networking with family and friends, and learning as I travel this crazy journey called life.  *wink*

Best Concert Experience Ever: I would have to say both Jill Scott back in NC a few years ago, that lady is not to be played with, lol!  Also, my girl E. badu, her eclecticism alone gave a hott show!

Best Concert Experience Ever: Floetry at Rams Head Live in Baltimore. Marsha has an unbelieveable voice and their band is CRAZY!!! I was sad when the show was over.
