On Tuesday night, My Mood is Music had the pleasure to attend an incredible evening with Lexus and Motown. The night was filled with soulful sounds and sophisticated style. The venue, Long View Gallery is a beautiful, yet stylish Art Gallery located in DC. It complimented the event quite well. The music was selection was just right! The DJ never left us with a dull moment.
But the highlight of the evening was the musical guests. Up and coming Barbados star, Hal Linton opened the show which a few of tunes that will be on his debut album, “Return from the Future.” Hal captivated the ladies with his smooth voice and then ended his set with a uptempo hit that I am definitely looking forward to hearing on the album. For sure, this is an artist that you may want to be on the “look out” for.
Next up was the genius himself – songwriter/producer/singer, Mr. Ryan Leslie. This man delivered nothing but perfection. We were blessed with hits such as “Quicksand”, “Addiction” and “How It’s Supposed to Be.” With all this talk of autotune being put to rest, Ryan brought it back to life and mixed it with one of my favorites “Valentine.” We also got the chance to see two of his new singles “Something that I Like” and “You’re Not My Girl” performed live. This guy definitely knows how to rock a crowd. Ryan, including his band had the most amazing energy. Overall, EXCELLENT performance.
