Jill Scott to Drop New Album This Summer

    January 14, 2010

    jill_scott

Jilly from Philly OH HOW I HAVE MISSED THEE. It looks like one of my favorite artist’s is preparing to drop an album this August entitled The Light of the Sun. Her label Hidden Beach Recordings has stated that this new project will be “a flurry of emotional poetry as both her career and personal life have skyrocketed with success in Hollywood and the birth of her first child.”

Scott has not released an album since The Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol.3, which came out in 2007. It would be an understatement to say that it has been way too long. Scott has a gift of turning poetry into song and she does it so gracefully and beautifully where you can relate and feel everything that she is saying. I am looking forward to hearing the first single from this project.

Music Mood of the Week – Hopeful

    October 3, 2007

Jill Scott – Wanna Be Loved

“Don’t feel no pity for me cause I’m going through a couple of things…life means change that’s the way it goes. All my life I had a constant burning, strong, deep desire, aching and ambiguous yearning…For something higher, for something better, for something bigger, for something wider, for something higher…a lot of regrets cause I ain’t seem to found it yet…I have been searching around the world never knowing what to expect. I get sad sometimes. I be mad sometimes, but I am out here on the grind making mines, but still can’t seem to find what I’ve been looking for…open so many doors…I just wanna be loved…like everybody else does”.- The Talented Jill Scott

All I can say is WOW…these words of encouragement could not have come at a better time. Our mood for this week is HOPEFUL. And what fitting words from the lovely Jill Scott to suit this mood. So many of us feel this exact same way. Grinding day in and day out, but often question what the outcome will be of their everyday struggle. Like at the end of the day you may have everything but can sometimes be unhappy. When it boils down to it we are all human. There are good days and there are bad days…but the one thing that can brighten up your day is Love, whether its from a higher power, friends, family or a significant other, as Jilly from Philly said “I just wanna be loved..like everybody else does.”
