TMZ has reported that Janet Jackson has been working diligently to prepare a tribute to her late and great brother Michael Jackson at the MTV Video Awards. The source has stated that the performance will include 20 back up dancers with a routine that was choreographed by Frank Gatson and Travis Payne. Sounds like we are in store for an amazing show and who better to pay tribute to the King of Pop than Janet Jackson.
So it seems like the MTV Video Music Awards are going to be crazy this year with Jay-Z and Alicia Keys slated to perform Empire State of Mind. I am too excited about this, since this happens to be one of my favorite tracks from The Blueprint 3. Other artists that have confirmed performances include Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Pink, and Green Day. Also as we mentioned before D.C. will be well represented with Wale and UCB as the house band for the night. The awards will air on September 13th, so all of you Entourage and True Blood fans may need to flip back and forth between stations.
MTV just released this brand new VMA promo video featuring Ne-yo. As you may have seen, this year has a West Side Story theme, and they have enlisted several top artists to join in on the fun. Check out Ne-Yo below, as he slides, glides and sings his way through a guitar infused version of “Tonight”, with a Michael Jackson- like flair.
