Nicki Minaj is next to get her own documentary on MTV. “My Time Now” will be similair to the documentary that MTV put together on Drake. In this brief interview, Kanye West chats with MTV on how there are a lot of simiarities between his upcoming short film Runaway and his video Flashing Lights. Within the interview Mr. West states:
“I think there’s a lot of similarity in this and Flashing Lights. Flashing Lights is my favorite piece of work that I’ve done. The pacing, people are always like, ‘Where is the rest of it?’ But we didn’t have the time or whatever or the money to do the rest of it. But I might do the rest of it, the beginning and the end. Two years from now, I might give you the whole ‘Flashing Lights’ video, put ‘I Wonder’ in it, ‘Say You Will’ and songs that I feel like doing.”
For those of you that are as anxious to see his upcoming short film for Runaway as I am, it will be premiering on Saturday at 8p.m. on MTV, MTV2 and BET, and will also stream live on MTV.com, BET.com and VH1.com. Following the premiere Kanye will do a live Q&A session on MTV and MTV.com. This man really knows how to create buzz!
Lupe Fiasco recently discussed with MTV, why he would never sign a 360 deal with his record label. In addition, for those of you that have been patiently waiting for the release of his album Lasers, it will be coming out March 8th, 2011. The first single from the album will drop on October 26th.

MTV had the chance to catch up with Big Boi on the set of his new video “Shutterbug.” He said the video is all about “capturing the moment.” Can’t wait to see the final product.
This past weekend Trey Songz’s “When I Was Seventeen” special aired on MTV. Check out the segment below where he discusses how he went to barber school and cut everyone’s hair for prom. I see his talents exceed past singing. Enjoy.
Drake sat down with MTV and spoke about his new video for his single, Over. He says, it captures the song and takes it to another place. We will be the judge of that since we haven’t been to pleased with his previous efforts.
Check out this interview with Lil Wayne and MTV as he discusses his lastest mixtape No Ceilings, which might I add is one of my all time favorites!! This mixtape is old school Weezy and I absolutely LOVE IT! Lyrically, metaphorically, and conceptually this dude goes in making every track that you listen to worth while. Even though my personal favorite is Swag Surfin. Let MMIM know what you think.
I have a feeling this is going to be an AMAZING tribute. It might be hard to find a dry eye in that audience on Sunday. If you don’t watch anything else this weekend, make sure you catch this tribute to Michael Jackson this Sunday on MTV.

MTV will be following TI as he prepares to face his prison sentence. The show entitled, Road to Redemption will air on February 10th, and it will showcase TI talking to schools and community groups encouraging them to look at what he has done as the road not to take and learn from his mistakes. I think this show will be beneficial for youth that may be traveling down the wrong road by letting them know that the judicial system does not discriminate regardless of fame or fortune.
