Check out this track from Beastie Boys featuring Nas entitled Too Many Rappers. This song has to grow on me, but I do like the message they are relaying in this song.

I know we already posted a throwback joint for this week, but I seen this video last night and it reminded me of how much I love this song! Check out the Made You Look performance with Nas, Ludacris, and Jadakiss. This performance goes sooo hard! I love it! Let MMIM know what you think.
Check out this interview with Jada Kiss and Nas that took place yesterday on 106 & Park. Jada Kiss discusses his new album, The Last Kiss which came out yesterday. He also discusses what artists need to do in order to stay relevant in the game. Let MMIM know what you think. His current single is What If.
Are you guys wondering what the status on Nas’ and Damian Marley collaborative album? MMIM reported on this project back in February. Well a press statement has been released to explain the details…
The album features the signature instrumentation and musicianship of Marley with the hard hitting beats and lyrics of Nas. Throughout the course of their musical careers, the duo has taught each other and always admired each other’s style. Since first meeting in 1996 the two artists have shared a mutual respect and camaraderie that was most recently showcased on “Road to Zion,” a standout track from Damian’s critically acclaimed album, Welcome to Jamrock. After having such a positive experience working together, they have now joined forces again for Distant Relatives.
The album title refers not only to the bond of Nas and Damian, but the bond to their African ancestry, which inspired the album both musically and lyrically. “Africa is the backbone of the world and the foundation of everything and Africans are in a situation where they need help more than anywhere else,” notes Damian Marley. “We know there are dire situations here in America but when you look at America—with public libraries and free education—these are not opportunities most Africans have. It’s a completely different scale of trying to help people. As humans beings, we’re part of a human family.”
Nas agrees, “As an American, we have so much even in a so-called recession that a neighborhood like Queensbridge or Red Hook is Beverly Hills compared to the way people are living in Nigeria, Sierre Leone, and Ghana,” says the emcee. “So obviously if we making records with that theme, there’s gonna be things I want to build on. I think Africa has a lot to teach us.”
I’m definitely looking forward to this project and it sounds like it will be a interesting collboration. The two will also go on tour together after the album is released.
Billboard Magazine has reported that Nas plans on working on a collaborative project with reggae artist Damian Marley. Apparently these two have already started recording some material for this project and they are looking to start touring this summer in order to promote the untitled album.
It has also been reported that the album may only be available for purchase through Best Buy or Target with some of the proceeds being donated towards building a school in Africa. MMIM is looking forward to seeing how this project unfolds between these two great minds.
Released just in time for the inauguration on Tuesday…here is the video for “My President” ft Nas.
For those of you that have not heard, BET’s Rap City wil be airing its last episode on Saturday, November 8th at 10pm. 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Nas, Busta Rhymes, and LL Cool J are just a few faces that are slated to appear for the show’s exit.
SOHH has reported that Rap City will be replaced with a show called “The Deal” that will focus on interviews, pop culture trends, and it will also allow viewers to interact with the show through video pop-ups.
Let MMIM know if you are sad to see Rap City go. Considering that it was the last interactive show truly dedicated to Hip Hop I must say it will certainly be hard to replace, especially those classic freestyle moments in the booth!!
Swagger Like Us Part 2 or the remix, what some may call, is on its way. According to SOHH, 50 cent, Nas, Andre 3000, and Jeezy will be recruited for the track. I can’t wait for this to be released. The original was hot and to imagine adding Andre 3000, Nas, and Jeezy. I’m not really a 50 fan but regardless its something to look forward to. Of course, MMIM will keep you posted on the details of this track and we will post when we receive it.
