Interview Magazine recently did a dope feature where they had an in depth conversation with Pharrell. Check out some of the photos from the feature below. Within the interview Pharrell stated the following in regards to the science of the creative process….
“My explanation is that curiosity illuminates the correct path to anything in life. If you are not curious, that’s when your brain is starting to die. And discovering, I think, that’s what separates us from the rest of the other species. It’s that we disover and pioneer.”
Check out the preview for N*E*R*D* new music video “Hot and Fun”. The video features Nelly Furtado who sings the hook; this track will be on their upcoming album, Nothing due out in September.
We told you about the release of this single with Nelly Furtado a few weeks ago. This is from N.E.R.D’s upcoming album, Nothing. Hot and Fun is the first single that features songbird, Nelly Furtado. Enjoy!
N.E.R.D. left us with Seeing Sounds which was released in the summer of 2008. Two years later, their 4th album, “Nothing” is dropping on June 15th. No pushbacks please!
Pharell recently had a talk with MTV about NERD’s new project. Their next album was reportedly going to have a title of “Instant Gratification.” MTV can now confirm that the group’s new album will be titled, “Nothing.”
Pharell explained to MTV the reasoning behind the album name change, “We scrapped 27 records because they weren’t good enough, they sounded great – but what were they saying? So we went back in (to the studio) and just focused on feeling…It’s almost like we did this whole entire album with our eyes closed, not because it was that easy but because it was that important to reconnect to what we feel and I would say this album is like scrapping everything and starting with nothing”.
He also told MTV that their female fans will be able to relate more with this album, “The music has been especially tuned in frequencies to speak to women… women will literally feel this, we are doing some other next level experimentation with this music…”

I am a big fan of N.E.R.D. and admire their creativity and style. I was listening to one of their songs “Run to the Sun” from their debut album “In Search of…” I’ve always wondered what Pharrell was referring to on this particular song. I’ve heard he’s talking about the loss of a loved one or even the death of hip hop. Let MMIM know what you think Pharrell may be referring to in this song after checking out his lyrics below.
Thinking about the time we share
And how I wasn’t there
It hurt me
These people overwork me
Then I heard maybe soon you’ll leave
Excuse me lord if you have tricks up your sleeve
I’m not ready to be bereaved
I know I’m always asking for something
Or another
But this time, it’s just time
‘Cause I love her
But baby if he don’t change his mind
Or fate or time
Yo I want to leave you with this line

N.E.R.D recently performed a new track on Jimmy Fallon. As always, the track has crazy energy and features Santigold and Lil’ Wayne. Check it out and let us know what you think.
N.E.R.D. talks about what song gives the crowd energy. I would have thought people would go crazy on “Spaz”, but Shay has another track in mind. They also discuss their fans biggest misconception about the group.
