Check out the interview below where Q-Tip discusses his upcoming album Kamaal the Abstract, which is slated to be released on September 15th via Jive Records. I guess I have been sleeping because I did not realize that the album was dropping next week. I am looking forward to hearing what he music he delivers with this project.

Q-Tip is planning a birthday bash for the late and great King of Pop on August 29th at the Nokia Theatre Times Square in NYC. Special invited guests include Mark Ronson and DJ Spinna, but I am sure there will be many other star studded appearances.
Tickets for this event are $25 and go on sale Friday, July 31st and can be purchased via Ticketmaster.com.
Check out this exclusive interview featuring Q-Tip. The interview was done by Tim Westwood TV. In the interview Q-Tip discusses Tribe Called Quest, his past and current records, musical influences, and what’s in store for the future. Let MMIM know what you think.
This week’s throwback joint is brought to you by Mr. Raphael Saadiq with his hit “Get Involved” featuring Q-Tip. This was the jam back in 1999 and it still puts me in a good mood. Q-Tip graced this song perfectly and the melody is still catchy to this day. Let MMIM know what memories this hit may have sparked for you.
For those of you that don’t have Q-Tip’s latest album, The Renaissance you should def cop that!! But on another note he has decided to remix one of my favorite tunes from the album, We Fight/We Love featuring Raphael Sadadiq and has added Kanye West and Consequence into the picture. The song is even hotter now. I am hoping that Q-Tip will release Life is Better as his next single, as this song def needs to reach the masses. Let MMIM know if you are feeling this track.
If you don’t have Q-tip’s album “The Renaissance” you are missing out on a great album. Here is his video for “MANWOMANBOOGIE”. Check it out below.
Well I’m glad somebody said it! I agree, artists are lacking creativity. Artists today don’t understand that they are creating an art form. There is no thought at all in most of the lyrics…Watch below and let Q-Tip tell it. He also explains why he titled his album The Renaissance.
Get your cups ready for Kool-Aid and plug your energy to the street poles. I proclaim “what is an ear if it doesn’t have a Q-Tip in it.” On November 4, 2008, Q-Tip, his Quest-ness released what is called “The Renaissance.”
Prepare yourself to bob your head for 44 minutes of pure, calm, natural Hip Hop. Such words can’t possible positively describe Q-Tip’s work of art but it does. There are no preservatives or poisonous additives. You hear the beats, you see the mic, and lustfully receive the lyric.
For those whose eargasms have been premature and quite frankly false; Q-Tip is a third of the phenom “A Tribe Called Quest.” Q-Tip is an emcee’s dictionary in human form. The reason Jay-Z asked the question “Can I Kick It?”
Collaboration is at a minimum but cautiously considered. Raphael Saadiq supplies the vocals on “We Fight/Love,” a track that explores the extremities of loving and hating and losing who you are in the process. Amanda Diva is “manwomanboogie.”
Norah Jones talents “Life is Better.” I have been rockin’ with Ms. Jones since “come away with me” and I must say I love her in this outfit; the doorknob earrings are gorgeous compliments.
Lastly, Mr. Brown Sugar himself lends his God-given pipes to make us “Believe.” If you are one of the many thirsty for more cruisin’ by all means cop “The Renaissance.
Spin the bottle and choose and track to begin your journey. I could be biased since I’m puritanical when it comes to my ears, but you’ve heard “Getting Up,” so move. Move is one of my favorite track.
“The Renaissance” is not quite “Amplified” nor “The Low End Theory” but a balance between the two: “music that you can quote.”
Here is a single from Q-Tip’s new album The Renaissance called “That’s Sexy” featuring Andre 3000. I am feeling this album so far and look forward to its release. Great collaboration from these two.
