Ya’ll keep sleeping on Solange, she has one of the best albums put out this year. And “T.O.N.Y” just happens to be my favorite off the album. I do wish she would have done more with the video. The shoes that she is rocking is some fiyah! There is a cameo from Kid Cudi and Cee-Lo in the video. Great song, but I’m feeling “iffy” about the video. Sidenote: I could have gone without seeing Solange on the toilet at the end.
Update: You know sometimes how you have to listen to a song more than once to like it? Well, I had to watch this video again and now I love the concept. I think the video is very much related to Solange’s real life. When you get to the end, you will see what I am talking about. Great one Solange!

All I can say is Wowww. Recent reports have announced that Beyonce and sister Solange are planning to launch a world together in April 2009. The tour will feature 110 dates and hit countries including Europe, Mexico, Japan, and Africa.
With Solange’s recent amazing album release and Beyonce’s steady track record, as well as pieces from her upcoming project I Am, I am sure that this show will be a music event that you do not want to miss! Keeping check MMIM for more details.

This year’s Fashion Rock’s definitely did just that!! It ROCKED!! With a historical music inspired theme each performance was well put together from Rihanna opening the show singing Vogue, Beyonce performing as Etta James with At Last, Chris Brown singing Sam Cooke and Justin Timberlake killing it with his remake of the Marvin Gaye tune. We must not also forget the Timbaland collaboration with One Republic and the Pussycat Dolls. Solange also did a pretty good job performing her single I Decided. All in all I would have to say that this show was a success and the closing performance for the show with the Stand Up for Cancer tribute was simply amazing. It was like a 2008 version of We Are the World. All twelve ladies sounded amazing and they were singing for a notable and worthy cause.

MMIM wants to know whether you think Fashion Rocks was a hit or miss, as well as which performances you liked the best. Also check out the performances below.

New music from Solange featuring Bilal entitled, “Cosmic Journey.” I fall more and more in love with this song as I listen to it. It doesn’t sound like your average Solange track. Not only did Bilal lend his vocals but he co-wrote the song as well. Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams hits stores on August 26.

This is Solange’s second single “Sandcastle Disco” from her upcoming album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams. I’m really feeling this song and video. The outfits are different and very creative. Solange even directed the video herself. I’m definitely a fan now. Her album his shelves on August 26th.

Anybody else other than myself miss the Stone Soul Picnic here in DC this past weekend? Well I came across a video of Solange’s performance (which is very good, might I add). Around the 3:30 mark, a man from the audience/crowd jumps on the stage and does his own performance…ahhhh, I love my DC folks. Enjoy!

F**k the Industry – Solange

Solange Knowles has been named the new ambassador for Armani Jeans. She will be featured in the fashion house’s fall ad campaign.
Giorgio Armani said in a statement:
“Armani Jeans expresses my vision of a young, independent, casual lifestyle with a strong and cool, fashion sensibility. Solange epitomizes this style perfectly and brings to it that swing so evident in her new single, I Decided.”
There has been talk that her single “I Decided” from her upcoming album Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams, will also be used to promote the campaign. Solange is making moves. Watch out, I think that we are going to be seeing a lot more of Ms. Knowles.

Solange performed her single “I Decided” (which I love!) over in the UK on GMTV. I think she did a great job but in my opinion the reporter focused too much on her being Beyonce’s sister. She is trying to make a name for herself and I think Solange is going to surprise a lot of people this time around. Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams hits stores August 26.
