This weekend, The Roots performed their single on Jimmy Fallon. “Dear God 2.0″ can be found on their album, “How I Got Over” which will be released on Tuesday. Great performance, I am loving all the sounds of the live instruments used. Also, singing the hook is Yim Yames of My Morning Jacket. Enjoy!

For all of our true fans of The Roots, this is sure to be a treat! This week’s throwback is brought to you by their trilogy video, premiered three years ago, which consists of a medley of three songs “In the Music”, “Here I Come”, and “Don’t Feel Right” from their album “Game Theory”. There is a lot of consciousness in this video to make us aware of what we go through in society, even to this day. “Game Theory” was one of my favorites by The Roots for it helped open my eyes to a lot learn about myself and my culture; I loved how they honored the late great J Dilla throughout the album, for it was the year of his untimely death. Let MMIM know if you remember this video and what memories this may have sparked.
MMIM just posted The Roots first single, “How I Got Over” earlier this week. They recently performed this song live at the Highline Ballroom. Check it out and let us know what you think. The album drops on September 29th.
