Usually, the video makes you like the song even more – this is not the case for me when it comes to Young Money’s “Roger That”. The video premiered yesterday on BET. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Many, many viewers (me, being one of them) were very dissatisfied about the outcome of the 2009 BET awards. They are a lot of negative comments that could be said but I think the number one thing that left a bad taste in EVERYONE’S mouth is the Drake and Lil’ Wayne performance. If you missed it, (be glad that you did) the entire “Young Money” crew decided to perform their single “Every Girl.” And if that wasn’t enough, there were underage girls (some even say Wayne’s daughter) on stage during the performance to sing along.
A few viewers must have expressed their thoughts about this and BET decided to issue a formal apology…
“BET Networks deeply regrets the performance by Young Money at the BET Awards ’09 (featuring Lil Wayne, Drake, Gudda Gudda, and Mack Maine). Elements of the performance were unplanned and should not have happened. We value and appreciate the feedback from our viewers and have edited Young Money’s performance from all BET Awards ’09 encore presentations.”
Overall, I think that performance and even some parts of the show were a bad misrepresentation of Black people in music. A lot may disagree but I was very disappointed in this year’s BET awards. Hopefully, they can look at this year’s show as a example of what NOT to do next year.
Check out this video released a couple days ago “Every Girl” by Lil Wayne featuring Young Money, Drake, Gudda, Mack Maine, and Jae Millz with a cameo appearance of Birdman. This is the first single off of the yet to be titled Young Money Entertainment Collaboration album. I love creativity in the video with the pop up words and phrases full of humor. I must admit, gotta love me Drake! LoL. You can tell they had a lot of fun making this video and I look forward to seeing and hearing more from Young Money Entertainment. Let MMIM know what you think of this video.
